The 153-point autofocus (99 of them cross-type) tracks the subject with the group control inherited from the D5 and remains effective down to -4 EV. Live View mode gains precision with the "Pinpoint" focus point for macro and small subjects. In terms of speed, the D850 captures up to 51 RAW files in burst mode and reaches 9 fps with the MB-D18 grip and BL-5 adapter. For video, it records in 4K UHD across the full sensor width (3840 x 2160) and offers Full HD slow motion (x5) at 120p, with the possibility of uncompressed HDMI output and a dedicated video menu. The silent mode with electronic shutter allows for discreet and almost vibration-free shooting (museums, weddings, theater, astrophotography).
